If you're a Beatles fan like me you will have heard about it for quite a while on forums and whichever media. Now - it's december 2012.

The Beatles are back on vinyl !!

I grew up with The Beatles, maybe you too, and in those 1960's vinyl was all there was. I still have all the Beatles LP's and most of the singles. The quality however, well I was a young kid, the singles, EP's and LP's came in my 8 to 15th so I was not that super careful with them and also, I played them 'all day long'. For me, it was John, Paul, George and Ringo. George became my hero.

Over the years I did buy some of them for a second time. Still, that was in the original form i.e. sound quality.

So now they are back on vinyl and most in stereo and remastered.

I should add that not every Beatles fan is thrilled by remastering, or maybe just not at first. Many prefer the original sound. And yes I remember when a mono album became stereo it was odd to suddenly hear Paul on the left and the others on the right. Or the guitar solo only left or right. The Help album had that a lot.I remember my headphone was getting old and for a while it only had one side, so I could not hear everything. Very frustrating I can tell you. "It's Only Love" and "You Like Me Too Much" I remember so well from  that time.

It was only a matter of time to get them back on vinyl I think. The popularity of LP's, vinyl, has increased over the years. To hold a 33 1/3 is just different than holding a CD. People with experience call it a closer feeling to the artists and their music. Apart from the LP also the LP cover, inner sleeve, booklet and what more is included has a better touch and sight in the 'original' format.

To me it so wonderful to have these as new and polished up technically. I have had some financial surprises and decided to 'invest' in the Box Set. A special gift for myself which is not a regular thing btw but over these 40+ years as Beatles fan once every x years it happens.

It's great to see the enthousiasm within my Beatles circle. Friends are over the moon and again the Beatles world is all fresh and writing about all these songs which come back to surface again.

I would love to read your thoughts about it and maybe get a discussion going. So please do comment or write me. Just leave your e-mail address and it will happen and you will also get my newsletters. It's such a thrill to talk Beatles :)

So, yeah, fourteen albums are back on vinyl and in their original form like with the special inner bags, the Sgt. Pepper cutouts and the White Album large poster which fans had on their walls for years.

Well dear reader, I can go on for ages and will certainly do so in the next blogs. Now some more about the contents of The Beatles Stereo Vinyl Box Set;

Each album can be bought individually, and has a quality designed 252-page hardbound book in a lavish boxed limited edition.

The book includes a load of pictures, many which were not in the 2009 CD booklets and also features a special chapter for each album, with details about the making of the remasters and the preparing of these new vinyl albums.

The titles include The Beatles’ 12 original UK albums, the US released Magical Mystery Tour LP, and Past Masters, Volumes One & Two, with non-album A- and B-sides, EP tracks and rarities.

The magic of LP's is that you can 'play' them. Have the physical feeling, knowing how to touch them best, looking at possible dust. When the needle hits the vinyl it is like watching the largest airplane touch the ground.

Do you remember the sound of the groove just before the first track starts. It flows in to the song.

Looking back in history, which mainly is my growing up between age 8 and 15, it took me years to realise that The Beatles made thirteen albums in seven years and all these seven years were different. Their clothes, the hair, the looks, the songs, the instruments, the type of lyrics, the messages, it all changed year after year.

And people changed with it.

Now again time stands still with the release of this package.

Please share your thoughts and experiences.
